1. I love to eat corn on the cob and have big plans to go to the Corn Fest this June... I also plan to run the race so that I can get a Tshirt and a corn on the cob dressed up in a cowboy hat ;)
2. I am extremely sore from running 14 miles in the last three days...it pretty much hurts to move...boy, am I going to miss my gym starting next week!
3. My guilty pleasures are McAlister's chocolate chip cookies, scrapbook time, Dr. Pepper, and those little Neopolitan candies that I buy at the grocery store (you know, from the machines where you stick in a quarter and get 3).4. I am pretty much grossed out by meat (like steak, BBQ, ribs, etc.) and hate to cook it because I don't like to touch raw meet. It is not that I am against eating meat...it just is not very appealing to me. (I am always sad when we have BBQ for lunch at work!)
5. I have no earthly idea what the Lord has planned for us in the future, but whatever it is, I know it will be awesome!! I am just trying to let go of worry and fear, and let God rule in my life! Matthew 6:25
6. I absolutely love dance dance revolution. I got to do it at a CBS party a few months ago and
LOVED IT!! I would totally buy it if I had something to play it on (we don't have a gamecube or a PS or anything like that). I wouldn't need a treadmill if I could get DDR! :) (It would take up a lot less space, too!)
7. I miss living in the corn (somehow tons of houses are not as cute as little corn stalks or empty fields). I miss driving by really friendly people (I wave at people in our neighborhood and they look at me like I am crazy). I miss being able to look out the window and seeing God's beautiful creation (there is something so peaceful about fields of God's creation!). I miss looking up at the sky at night and seeing gazillions of stars (all the lights of the city drown out the stars). I miss the creek (we have nothing like that wonderful creek around here). I miss the quietness and solitude you can only get out in the corn (especially on warm summer nights with fireflies flying around and the scent of the mimosa tree on the breeze). One thing I do not miss; however, is the 30+ minute drive to get anywhere.
I am tagging Vicki, Amanda, MAM, Riss,& Mel!
And I thought I would post a layout I made the other night full of Creative Imaginations goodies... I LOVE KAREN RUSSELL STUFF!! :)
Felt good to create a
couple of pages and use some really fun products!!
Supplies used: Creative Imaginations paper, chipboard, stickers, and clip tabs (thanks, Julie!!), Paper Studio white cardstock, and Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabet in whisper blue.
I also thought I would share my design team tryout layout with my gals because I realized I had never posted it...love you girls! :)
In case you can't read the journaling, it says:
Sharing the journey with these girls over the last 9 years has been such a joy. The five of us - friends since high school - Dayne, Mel, Riss, MAM, & Lace. They are stress relief, encouragement, camaraderie, laughter, fun, godly examples. Separated by miles but connected by facebook. Always there for each other. Always excited to catch up. Don't know what I would do without these girls. Always happy to be together.
Supplies used: Cosmo Cricket "Storytime", Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey chipboard block alphas, Deluxe Designs brackets, Making Memories Jumbo blossom, MM Strawberries & cream paint, Bo Bunny Bodacious brads Sweet & Sour, Color Box chalk charcoal, Doodlebug Design Sew Easy rub ons, Hero Arts stamp, Staz On Ink jet black, Swatch Books Narratives Impress-ons, CK Frayed computer font, Cutter bee curvy cutter (love that wonderful tool!).

Am looking forward to scrap time next week...my last Spring Break ever!
Am hoping to get some time off work to finish Getting to Yes and read Jesus CEO for school. I have so many projects that I need to work on for school. I also intend to clean and organize our bedroom...it is such a mess!! Hate it when the house is a mess!
Am also looking forward to heading to Fort Worth for an old friend's wedding on Friday. We are going to get to visit with Brad's sister Val and her husband Jacob...this will be my first time to see their house and they have been in it for 2 or 3 years now!! I also get to see where Riss lives finally!! And then on Saturday I have another wedding. Should be a super fun weekend/week (once I get through two more tests!)!!
BVOTD: "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." Acts 20:24 NIV

The journaling in case you can't read it...
I get to take classes with my husband.
I have never been clubbing.
I have had the same job for 6 years.
I think more about having kids than getting a job that pays $50,000/year.
The only college roommate I have ever had is my husband.
I have never lived on campus.
It is going to end up taking me 6 years to get my degree.
I spent 2½ years at a community college before transferring to a 4 year university.
I own a house.
I have never had a beer.
I don’t smoke.
I have never done drugs.
I have a retirement account.
I am married.
I have never been to a college sporting event.
I have never been to Homecoming.
My vehicle is paid for.
I will be married almost 4 years when I get my degree.
I am not a member of any clubs at school.
I spend more time scrapbooking then I spend doing homework.
I saved myself for marriage.
I am married to Brad for as long as I live.
I will graduate with a 3.6 GPA.
I worked the entire time I was in college.
I never took a semester off after I graduated from High School.
Items used for this layout: Cosmo Cricket paper, white cardstock, 7 Gypsies Gaffer Tape (I am almost out of it) :( , big paperclip (I think from Office Depot?), Dymo labeler, Doodlebug Design Sew Easy rub on stiches (love those!), Bookworks Mini ABC's and Numbers (white), Rusty Pickle chipboard letters, and the font is CK Urban (thanks, Vick).
The other two layouts are my design team layouts...I did 10 Things I Love About Mom & Dad. Used some photos of dad I took at his birthday party at Stagecoach Inn last year. The photo of mom is from Mother's Day a couple of years ago of her holding a pink rose. Cute, cute :) Will be updating with those layouts later...
Thought I would give a little update on life too...Some snapshots from our LAST first day of school!! Here we are by our front door looking "studious"...
and less studious...
He treated me to McAlisters for lunch where we got what we always get (yeah, we're boring)...a potato soup for me with no bacon and green onion & a 12" Godfather for Brad (I get part of his bread)...I drank DP even though it wasn't a DP day (=no DP for me on Friday)...and of course a chocolate chip cookie to share :) YUM!! We also did some furniture shopping but didn't find anything.
School is okay I guess. By far, my strangest semester yet. The classes all seem weird to me. And I have to wait around for like 3 hours every day. I think I will use some of that time to work out at the gym a couple of days a week. My work schedule is going to be crazy because we don't get out of class till 1:50 everyday! and then Thurs I have my night class & Monday we leave early for Bible Study.
I still don't really know what the Organizational Theory class is all about. But I do know that I am in it with Bradley :) We have to do a bunch of cases in there and talk in class (and the class has over 25 students so we have to go around the room...don't like that because the timing is always bad...either someone says your comment before you or they change the subject before it gets to you!). Having Org Theory and Org Behavior at the same time confuses me. Sheesh. How will I keep track of them??
I did not get my fave teacher for my Entrepreneurial class but I did get her for my Org Beh class :) She rocks it! I think that class will be pretty interesting. We have a group project where we find video clips that show org beh...I like movies :)
I really don't like being in the Sales & Sales Management night class without Bradley. It's a bummer to have to take two trips to school (or not be able to ride with Bradley in the morning). The teacher seems pretty cool but 3 hours is just so long. I get sleepy!
We do get a nice lunch break on Mon/Wed/Fri so we will be able to spend a long time at lunch with the Methodists (MAM's church). FUN! Yummy food, too! (Speaking of food...I am hungry!). And! I am going to get to see Perez there I think!! (Side note: She is feeling a bit overwhelmed by nursing school...pray for her if you think about it...she is in class from 9:00-4:00 four days a week with an hour for lunch. When she is not in class she is working or reading and doesn't have enough time to finish her reading every night.)
Waiting for ice and snow here. Luckily we have no trees that can fall on the house (cause our trees are so little!) and we live near the power generator plant thing so if we lose electricity it probably won't be for long (on of the perks of living in the city!). (And a side note to dad...you don't have to worry about me parking my car under the tree and then having to melt the ice off of the door handle to get in and move the car and then end up with a broken door handle! Ah, the memories!!). :)
Not looking foward to doing homework! YUCK! I can't seem to get back into the swing of things...I don't even want to reorganize my binder and add paper to it. Usually I have that done before the semester starts. Maybe I will get a new, cute binder...the purple one is getting old after a few semesters. (lol, I am such a spoiled American! kinda sad.).
Hoping my boy comes home soon. He went to install gas logs at a house near Buchanan Dam. I didn't want him to leave!! I am going to do some more cleaning and probably work on laminating and cutting out CBS memory verses. It's sad that we don't have Bible Study tomorrow night (cause of the ice storm warning...supposed to be icy out tomorrow!). I just love winter...just wish we would get some snow!!!
BVOTD: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Psalm 139:13-16 NIV
I absolutely love those verses! How awesome to know that God formed us before we were born and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made?! That is so amazing!! :) Who can have a negative self image after reading that??

Hanging out with Mom & Vicki...
What a blessing they are to me! I love that we have the opportunity to spend time together. On this particular day, I was on Spring Break and Mom and Vicki were able to take some time off. We went shopping at Goodys and laughed so hard that mom was crying.
We went to Cotton Patch Cafe for lunch (in the mall)...we ate the best
rolls in the world and had some good conversation.
Since mom had never been to Starbucks before we decided to make a trip to introduce mom to the Starbucks experience. Mom ordered a cappucino and when she got it, it was so bitter she couldn't drink it. We added some sugar but it didn't help. Finally, we asked the Barista and she suggested adding vanilla. It did the trick. Mom was pleased with her first trip to Starbucks. I'm not sure when we will get her to go there again...she doesn't like to cross 31st Street to get there because of all the traffic. When I told people that she had never been to Starbucks before, no one believed me! It is 2006 and mom had never been to Starbucks! Crazy! Insane! But now she can say she has been there. :) I got a Java Chip Frap and Vicki got a Strawberries and Cream Frap. To top it all off, they even spelled our names right on our cups! :) That doesn't happen very often. I was really excited about the picture of mom and Vicki. It is super cute!
I am so very blessed to have the free time to spend making memories and bonding. It reminds me so much of shopping trips as a kid...spending time together, chatting, laughing, just being happy to spend time with each other. Now it means even more to me since we don't get the chance to go out very often.
Vicki decided to put a cowboy hat on while we were in Goodys...I couldn't believe she actually posed for the picture! What a good sis she is!
All in all, it was an awesome day full of laughter and smiles. I hope we have tons more of them throughout the years!
There is nothing better than a girl's day out! :)

I utilized my scraproom (and new chair!) last night and made a frame with one of my favorite pictures from Easter...my little (second) cousin Emily. She is too cute :) (I went back to Target and bought more of the frame kits the other day.) The kits are super fun, affordable, and easy to make! :)
Lobby has shadow boxes half off right now! Not to sound like a commercial but really, what a deal! :) Labels: Scrapbooking
A New Addition to My Scrap Studio...
It is really cute and comfortable too! :) It spins (always a plus!), has a pneumatic lift, and rolls across the carpet! All in all, it was a wonderful evening. I got to eat mama's trio and yummy bread from Macaroni Grill and even checked into getting some exterior paint for the house at Home Depot. And you can bet your money that I will be enjoying my new chair well into the future! :)

Had a wonderful weekend...DID NOT want to head back to work today!! But since we closed at 5:00 instead of 6:00 I had some extra time (really I worked till 5:30 so I got an extra 30 minutes) and decided to
go shopping at Old Navy and Target.
I also bought some frame kits from Target tonight...made some for my graduating CBSers and for Perez and Josh (I figure I am safe since they don't read this thing..)
I really loved the kits though...thinking about going back to get some more.
I should probably head to bed so I can get some sleep...early morning tomorrow!!!
