Update on Colby & Gene

Praise the Lord, Colby is improving! He got out of the children’s hospital and is at home with his family now. They put a soft cast on his leg. They think he will be ready for school when it starts in August.

Gene really wanted to do something for Colby so Linda (my mother in law, Gene’s wife) and I went to Target and picked out toys that we thought Colby and his siblings Kendal and Blake might enjoy. We got bubbles, balloons, silly string, card games, board games, candy, etc. We thought that if he didn’t like a particular toy that his older sister and younger brother would like them. Hope they help to pass the time while he is on his road to recovery. Gene went to visit him on Thursday night and delivered the goodies.

I think Gene is getting better. Linda said that while it is forefront in his mind, he is not reliving it in his mind as much. For a while when he saw anything in his peripheral vision while he was driving he would brake as hard as he could. She thinks it will slow him down a bit.

Pray for a speedy recovery for Colby and peace for his family. I am sure that it is difficult having an injured son and two more children to take care of at home. The family was planning on remodeling their house and going on a trip this summer. This has changed their plans.

Also, please pray for wisdom for the doctors for any upcoming surgeries that may take place. Pray that God will continue to work in Gene and give him peace in his heart.

Thank you for being such awesome prayer warriors!! I know Gene was comforted that so many people were praying for the situation!!
