Urgent Prayer Request

My father-in-law, Gene, was on his way home tonight from the grocery store (picking up medicine for his mother-in-law) when an 8 year old boy on a motorized bike hit the side of his truck. The accident happened at 6:40 p.m. tonight. The little boy, Colby, was moving pretty fast on the bike; Gene was driving slowly because there were a lot of people out. Colby had a helmet on but no shoes.

He was Starflighted to Breckenridge Hospital and he has no internal bleeding or head injuries (praise the Lord!). The accident could have been much worse. We know that God is working. He has a bruised liver, a collapsed lung, a broken femur and had a severe cut on his foot and the doctors will have to reconfigure his foot. He will have to wear a cast and go through surgery but he will be okay. Please pray that God would work mightily in this situation. Pray for wisdom for the doctors and peace for the family.

We went to visit with Gene tonight and he is very distraught and emotional (as you can imagine). Please, please lift him up in your prayers right now. The accident was not his fault but I know that he feels like it is. He keeps replaying everything in his mind. Pray for peace in his soul and that he can get some rest tonight.

Everything happens for a reason and I know that God will work through this situation. Please keep them all in your prayers. I will post updates when I hear more information.

"...in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 NIV
