My Last Spring Break In a Nutshell

Warning: This is a very long blog post that I have been working on for two weeks now...sorry if there are lots of mistakes...I am so sick of reading it, I can't read it again!

Can't believe how fast the week went by!!! It absolutely FLEW by!!

Brad and I skipped class on Friday (for like the second time since I've been in college...it was pretty fun!!) and headed to Ft. Worth to visit with Brad's sister, Valerie, and her husband, Jacob. It was the first time I had ever been to their house so it was really cool to see where they live. We hung out at their house for around four hours and talked and ate cheeseburgers. (Even got to see a 2 week old baby :) Loved her little booties!) So fun to catch up...we don't get to see them very much. Being in their house totally made me want to display all my favorite photos...they have tons of picture frames around the house...loved it!!

I also had the opportunity to visit Riss at her casa. It turns out that they only live 15 minutes away from each other! We headed to Natalie's wedding and ended up sitting on the groom's side (even though we had never met him before) because Nat's side was full and we would have had to sit way in the back.

Cool ceremony. They actually had the wedding guests sing a hymn...have never been to a wedding where they had the people sing. They had one solo, A Page is Turned. Cool song but so long. Wouldn't want to have to sing that one at a wedding!

Ended up leaving the reception before they left...I was with two old people, lol ... j/k Riss and Brad :) Caught a few winks and woke up early to spend some time with Val but spent some time with Jacob instead because he was awake...watched some animals on TV. The Val made waffles...really yummy waffles, too!! Makes me want to break out the ole waffle iron!

Met Riss and headed out to see her campus...very pretty I must say...not sure if it beats OBU, though. Then we went to the Container Store where I spent like $30 for magnets. They are the best, what can I say? They are the only kind that will hold up all my layouts in my scraproom! Ate at Jason's Deli for lunch and then went back to Riss' place to chat for a bit. Nice to catch up with her and see where she lives!

Then we headed home to go to wedding #2, Matt and Molly...

They are really cute together! It is so weird because I knew him from Elementary school and her from high school. Beautiful wedding. And I even got to spend some time with my Dayna Marie and meet her boy, Ryan. (And even got to photograph them, HOT DOG!!).

Enjoyed catching up with old friends...Brad even got to see a lot of his old Cross Country friends (since Molly was a Cross Country gal in high school). Lovely reception. (Have no good pictures of the cakes because the lighting was orange and I don't know how to fix it :) They had a wall-o-pictures that I loved. They had a lot of 8x10 childhood/grown up/engagement photos that were so fun to look at...it's like we got to grow up with them...(yeah, I know I'm a dork). Loved that they had M&M's printed with "Matt & Molly got married" and cute sayings like that!

Headed home and pretty much went to sleep because we were exhausted. Stinking time change!

Woke up for early service and then watched some toddlers. :) Started Operation Clean-the-Bedroom and fixed the bed (see previous blog post).

I worked 20 hours between Monday and Tuesday...binge working. That is actually 5 hours more then I work in a normal week (when I am in school). Would so much rather work that way and get some full days off.

Pretty much went home and went to sleep Monday night...

Tuesday night Perez came and met me at work at closing time...

After fixing a broken windshield wiper in the rain, we went to the Olive Garden, Krispy Kreme (side note: we watched the first two doughnuts of the batch from the dough stage...then two men that came in after us stole our two doughnuts! We were so sad!), and headed to the Card and Party Factory to get some things for Perez's sister Liesel who had just had jaw surgery. Got her a rainbow balloon and a butterfly pinata (Vicki wanted me to fill it with latex gloves or syringes but I opted not!). Had a lovely time catching up with my little Perez! I don't get to see her nearly enough! It took a lot to convince her to come see me! (Apparently, she was not sure if I was worth the gas money or not...)

Left work early on Wednesday to do some more laundry, hung out with Tina, and read some of Getting to Yes. I met one of my old Bible study girls, Alison, at McAlisters for dinner.

(Side note: it may appear that I am wearing the same sweater in the last two photos but I promise, I wore two different white sweaters on these outings.)

We had some ice cream at Cold Stone and headed to Target to do some shopping. Always good to catch up with her. Especially now since she is at A&M and has lots of good stories to tell. Then I picked up 386 photos from Walgreens (I use Snapfish.com and highly recommend it!)!! Love having new photos printed! :)

Thursday I went to work to fix cash and enter some tickets and then headed to Walgreens to pick up a few more pictures and to my inlaws' house to water plants, get the mail, turn off the heater, etc. while they were gone. Then I went home to pack up a TON of scrapbooking stuff and Christmas presents (somehow we never got the chance to meet with the Marshall's for a Christmas gathering in that long amount of time!). Vick and I picked up some Starbucks and headed over to Julie's house for a day of scrapping to celebrate Julie's birthday!! (Makes me wonder why we don't scrap all day more often! It is SO FUN!) Gotta love it when you can spend almost the whole day scrapping! :)

I made a minibook of the ice days in January. I still need to do a little bit more journaling but other then that I made it all in one day :) Love the feeling of starting and finishing an album in a day.

We went to lunch with the kids and squeezed into a booth at Chick-Fil-A. It was so good to see the kids...it has been forever since I saw them!!

We headed home and I did some laundry and worked on the album a little bit more before heading to mom and dad's house to spend the night.

Went shopping with mom (and mom's friend) and Vicki (and her friend Tammy) on Friday. Ate at Casa Ole, bought some stuff for Liesel, drank some Dr. Pepper, and was frightened by a clown.

Went through the Starbucks drive through on the way home...mocha frapps for all!

Then I waited for my boy to pick me up. Had a wonderful date night...

wanted to go to the movies but decided we would buy one and watch it at home instead. Headed to Wal-Mart and decided to pick 5 items $1.00 or under for each other. It was quite fun seeing what we picked out for each other...

I picked out screwdrivers (because we never have any at home and he is always looking for them), pens (because he is always stealing mine), Cheap cola (because he loves the stuff), and bunny ears (because I thought he would make a cute bunny).

He got me a Cadbury egg (because I love them and haven't had one yet this year), photo hangers (because my sweet boy is going to hang up picture frames for me :), pink scrapping flowers (because they are so cute!), cherry chapstick (because I always need it), and really fun animal capsules (because it is really fun to watch them "grow" in water).

After our trip to Wal-Mart we headed to McAlisters to pick up some dinner to go and went home to watch the movie The Holiday. Thought it was really cute :)

All in all, it was a wonderful Spring Break...now if we can just make it through the last month of school!!!

Do Valerie and Jacob usually have two week old babies wander into their house to visit? Or is there some sort of story there? :)

I am pleased to see that Tammy is now considered my friend and not just Mom's friend, but technically, she didn't go shopping with us! :Þ

The Holiday rocks! (So does Patch Adams but I digress.)

Enjoy your remaining days in college ... it won't be long before you are wishing you were there again! The real world can be so overrated sometimes.

Lacey, I'm just not sure what that says about you, when you are sick of your own blog post. What's up with that???!?!?

P.S. I'm not sure that date night was so great, Lace. You were photographed strangling your husband. (Dialing 9-1-1)
