6 Months OId

- Found his toes on 7.1.08
- He has some separation anxiety going on...sometimes I lay him down and leave the room and he is fine and then I walk in and right when he sees me he cries and wants to be picked up.
- He wants to put everything in his mouth!
- He loves to suck on his thumb (much to his mommy's dismay) and tries to put one or both into his mouth when he drinks his bottle (also much to his mommy's dismay!)!
- Loves to suck on any plastic drinking bottle that he can get his hands on (even better if they are cold)...no need for a toy when we have plastic drink bottles around!
- Wakes up once during the night not because he's hungry. We think it may be just because he is teething right now. He has been waking up at 2:30 and going back to sleep at 3:30. Ugh! (It is especially sad because we were so used to sleeping through the night!)
- Still likes his baby sling...we have been using the kangaroo hold...he is like a little baby kangaroo in there! So cute!
- He likes to watch a show on PBS called Raggs (I think that is what it is called). He will stop playing to watch them dance and sing.
- Rolled from his back to his tummy this month (I wasn't sure if I would ever see this happen because he hates being on his tummy so much!)
- Sits on his own when we sit him up (can't pull himself up). Is still a bit tipsy though
- Scoots on the floor but shows no sign of crawling (which is good for us because we still need to baby proof our house). Not sure how he is going to learn how to crawl because when we put him on his tummy he flips over onto his back right away.
- Has quite a bit more hair than he has had...still a bit bald on top. Most of it is lighter but it seems to be growing in a little bit darker.
- He has beautiful blue eyes that can make you smile just by looking into them (That was written by grandma)
- Loves swimming in pools. He laughs and smiles when we pull him around the pool...we have plans to go to Auntie Vicki's pool at her apartment soon!
- Loves the ocean but is not so sure about the waves crashing on him
- He is really good at putting his paccy back in
- He is such a sweet boy and has been really happy lately. He is even handling car rides much better these days...crying a lot less and sometimes even falling asleep.
- He still loves to eat. He typically drinks about 4 ounces during a daytime feeding and more in the morning and at bedtime. (I'm still not exactly sure what he's eating since most of the time I am breastfeeding him.)
- He will soon be growing out of his size 2 diapers.
- He weighs 15-16 pounds.
- He is wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes...I am not looking forward to upgrading to the bigger size! (I know I have problems...you don't have to tell me!)
- He is beginning to become more content and adjusted to his surroundings
- He is very playful and his favorite toys right now are the crinkly paper (plastic paper wrapped in yellow fabric), tiger/panda clacker, and a monkey that spins and has a little mirror
- Still loves our nightly strolls in his jogging stroller
- He is getting much better at eating from a spoon. He is eating rice cereal almost like a pro these days (sucking it off of the spoon instead of just playing with the spoon). He really is not all that fond of the stuff though and many nights will let us know that.
- He smiles at bath time and loves to be massaged with lavender bedtime lotion.
- He makes a lot of tooting noises with his mouth to get our attention...he loves to be the center of attention!
- He has been waking more during the night. It is as if he knows mommy is not in bed next to him and he will cry (sometimes I work on photos or laundry in the middle of the night if I wake up...it is the easiest way to get stuff done!). We are trying to figure out how to get him to sleep on his own. We have to pick him up and rock him to get him to go back to sleep. He usually sleeps till daddy's alarm goes off at 8:15. Then he will eat and go back to sleep till 11:00 or 12:00. He usually takes an hour or two nap during the day (in which I work on getting the kitchen back to normal since we are staining all the cabinets...ugh...what a job!).
- It is much easier to find time to run on my treadmill since he now loves to watch me run (hope he continues this!).
- He loves it when grandma comes to visit
- He loves visiting his Auntie Vicki's apartment on Saturdays
- He is a silent observer much of the time.
- He spent his first night away from mommy so that we could celebrate our anniversary...Auntie Vicki did a wonderful job! :) (THANKS, Auntie Vicki!)
- He does a lot of cooing and "talking" . . . people ask me if I read to him and talk to him because he "talks" so much.
