Corn Fest 2008

Since I grew up in the country (affectionately referred to as "the corn" by all of us) we have always had a special place in our hearts for the Holland Corn Festival.
There is a parade at 10:00 and little booths set up with different things for sale. They have corn on the cob and a BBQ lunch. It is one of very few times of the year that we see Grandpa A's side of the family.

This year Auntie Vicki couldn't come because she had to go to market for her job at the hospital gift shop. Brad & Grandma D couldn't come because they had to work. We did; however, convince Grandpa A to come. (He wasn't planning on coming but when I told him that Luke would be there he said he would come...without any hesitation whatsoever.).

We had to of course get some photo ops with corn on the cob for me and a John Deere corn on the cob teether for Luke (it vibrates so it is good for teething, too!). Too cute. Hope to get Brad to come with us next year. And maybe even run with me in the morning 5K! :)

Luke sure does look cute in his hat! And the corn actually makes me think of those popsicles with them ice cream in the center! Yum! Makes me want one!
