Luke's First Road Trip/Alicia's Baby Shower

Luke went on his first road trip ever with me, Granny (Linda), and his cousin, Caden (he's 3 now). We set out on our adventure after church and Sunday school (and a quick bite to eat at Stone Canyon with Brad, Gene, and Logan). We set out for Ennis to see Alicia at her baby shower. Both boys slept pretty much the whole way there. I think both boys enjoyed their naps while I read a parenting magazine.

When we finally arrived, Luke wanted to be changed and fed. He wasn't cranky about it but he did insist. I decided that after I fed him his bottle and burped him I would try out the sling again. I am still not so great at putting him in it but once he was in there he was happy as a clam. He had his eyes wide open and was just looking around. He was a really great baby and didn't cry the whole time.

Alicia got all kinds of good stuff...lots of clothes, the airplane bedding they registered for, diapers, 2 Diaper Genies, a high chair, a play yard, activity mat, and other assorted baby goodies. It had been a little while since I had seen her and her belly has grown a lot! She is a really adorable pregnant gal! :) She and Robert are soo excited about baby James' arrival! We are really excited for them! (Side note: Now when I see pregnant gals I just get all giddy because I know what they are going to get to experience! There is nothing like meeting your own baby for the first time!!)

After the shower I snapped a few shots of Robert and Alicia and her cute baby belly. :)

We headed home and I read the boys The Three Little Pigs, Sam & the Firefly, and Summer to Caden and Luke. They seemed to enjoy them. Luke even blew some bubbles he was so happy :)

We stopped at Wendy's on the way back and I got to feed Luke (who had decided that he was extremely hungry a little earlier). I think all in all, it was a really great trip! I think everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly!
