What Lacey & Luke Do All Day

Julie A. asked me on Monday what it is that I do all day...so I thought I would make a post devoted to answering that question. I will probably want to remember what I did all day years from now (when I have multiple kiddos and wonder where all my time went, lol)! So, here goes...
A typical day here at home for us is watcing the TODAY show while I feed and change Luke when Brad gets up (usually Luke sleeps in till Brad's alarm goes off). Then we take a little nap after he is all full and happy. He typically sleeps on my belly :) Then I either feed him again and get up and run on the treadmill (usually two miles faster or three miles slower...20 or 30 minutes) and shower (while he hangs out in his carseat in the bathroom). I then either eat a sandwich at home or Brad brings me something and hangs out with us at home. (We love it when daddy visits us!) Sometimes we meet Brad and eat with him. On Fridays we meet at Chick for our weekly Friday Chick date :)
After lunch we typically watch a little TV. I like the PBS show "A Place Of Our Own" that talks about raising kiddos. The other day I put "Between the Lions" on and Luke stared at the TV like it was the best thing he has seen yet. (If you haven't seen that show it is basically a kids show where they read stories and sing songs).
We usually have tummy time in the afternoon...I put Luke down on his tummy on a blanket on the living room floor so that he can practice holding up his head and getting ready to learn to crawl. I give him toys to play with and a mirror to look at himself in and usually read a book or two to him.
If Luke is exceptionally happy, then I try to squeeze in some scrapbooking time to work on his album. He loves his swing and will spend a little while in it just listening to the music and enjoying the swing. He will also hang out in his vibrating rocker...I hang a toy up and make the chair rock with my foot and he is a happy boy. :)
Random things that I do...I check my email, facebook, and my favorite blogs. I download photos that I have taken to our new computer. I upload them to Snapfish and sort through them and make lists of which pictures to order. Sometimes I set up photoshoots (see above picture that is really random but I thought it was funny because it looks like he is flinging his pacifier at me). And of course, I change Luke's diapers all day. We usually go through maybe 10 or 15 a day? I have never counted but I know that I fill up the trash can really quickly! Since he is such a hungry boy, I spend a lot of time feeding him. I also work on laundry and clean up the place (this house is never actually clean). I never knew a little one would get so much stuff dirty, lol! Later afternoon we will go get the mail if it is nice out. Luke really loves to be outside so occasionally we just walk outside and look around. Much to Luke's dismay, I give him a bath during the day (usually every other day). I usually pump late at night and early in the morning. Then of course there is the ole' blog to update. I typically do that after Luke and Brad have fallen asleep so that I can type uninterupted. That is usually when I respond to emails, too.
Some days we go shopping...Kohls & Target are my favorites so we usually end up there if we go out. Luke will usually sleep while we are out. He loves being in his stroller (as long as I keep him moving). On days where I am feeling really up for a challenge, I head to the grocery store. (I hate going to the grocery store.) I guess it is a bit nicer having Luke to talk to now though. :) I try to go to the grocery store when Brad can go too. Then there is always the bank run that needs to be done and the CVS visit to pick up my vitamins. Everything takes longer when you have a baby in tow.
Mom comes on her day off (it changes every week) and we usually just hang out at home...she holds him while I run or scrap. Always exciting when momma comes :) Luke loves her visits too.
Saturdays we go visit Auntie Vicki and hang out at her apartment (and sometimes shop). I usually get to scrap on Saturdays while she holds him :)
Sundays we go to late service at church. (I just am not a morning person and have a really hard time waking up early enough to get myself and Luke ready for the 8:30 service...especially when I usually get home late on Saturday nights). Sometimes we go visit Brad's grandmas and sometimes we just hang out at home and lounge (or even play Farkel all afternoon!).
Mondays are CBS days so Brad comes home early from work and we work on CBS stuff before heading to leaders council (with Luke) at 5:30. It has been such a blessing having MAM as my assistant Coordinator to set everything up. Though we try really hard, it is really difficult to make it there early some days. At CBS Luke will usually hang out in his car seat for a while (during leader's council) and then I put him in the baby wrap while I eat and get things ready. He is usually in the baby wrap during praise & worship time and during the talk. (It keeps him calm and happy.) After the talk, Paula & Julie usually fight over who gets to hold him while I deliver suckers and pick up notebooks with MAM. After CBS we usually head home and call mom and dad to catch up.
Tuesdays are just normal days except I watch the Biggest Loser from 7:00 to 9:00 (side note: did anyone watch tonight? I am so proud of Ali and Kelly! They are so teeny and are beating those big dudes every week! :) So exciting that both of the girls made it into the finale!!!!! Ali is skinnier than me now!!! Speaking of, will I ever lose the last stinkin' 13 pounds?!?!!).
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays we typically hang out with daddy at home. It is usually Brad and Luke cuddle time. :) We usually head to bed around 10:30 or 11:00 and watch tv while I feed Luke. He is usually asleep by 12:00 or 12:30.
So, there you have it. A detailed account of our days :) The good life :)
