Luke's Two Week Checkup
Good news is he weighs over his birth weight (and we still had three days left)!! YAY!! He weighed 8 lbs 4 ozs! He grew 1 1/2" and is now 21 1/2" long! His head is also up 1" to 13" (it's everyone telling him how cute he is all the time!) .
Bad news is he has a clogged tear duct in his right eye and he is still a little jaundice. The doc says that if he is still looking a little yellow in two weeks that we should go back in and get a blood test done to see what his bilirubin levels are.
We asked the doctor what we can do about the little guy's hiccups (poor Luke totally got that from me!) and he said we can't do anything about it. Since Luke has a hard time burping and has a lot of gas, we also asked him about gas drops. He said we were fine to give them to him. We asked him about his umbilical cord and he said it looks good (can't wait for that thing to fall off! It is so big and when he kicks up his legs his diapers hit it!). :(
Luke liked this appointment even less than the first one because they had to prick him in the heel and fill five circles with his blood to test for certain diseases and allergies. Poor little guy!! He was really glad when the lady was done. No news is good news and I think they get the results within the next couple of weeks.
If Luke doesn't look jaundice in two weeks, then we go back in two months...our next appointment is scheduled for April 8th.
After the appointment Brad took me to Chick to get me a chicken biscuit :) and then we headed to GFAP to let the boys meet Luke.

How is his jaundice now????
Not sure to tell you the truth. I couldn't tell he ever had it. I suppose we will have to go to the doc on Monday and see??
His little hiccups are the cutest thing ever! :)
Mom,
I'm like 5 weeks and 4 days old now. Don't you think it's time to update this blog?
Love,
Luke
